This is Eli, hijacking Jess’s laptop -
I AM ABOUT PISSING MYSELF because she’s been going on about Canada and maple syrup for about twenty minutes.
“If I don’t get maple syrup on some part of my body while we’re there I’m going to be pissed. I mean, it can’t be that hard. They just give you some at the border, right? Like in Hawaii with the flowers. The douse you in maple syrup, hand you a hockey stick and a cup of Tim Horton’s? I mean, at the very least, I just wanna squish my hands in a bowl of it. I will find a way. I mean, all you have to do is knock over a tree. I’m not stupid, I know that’s how it works.
No, that’s not true. I know how it works. You rip off the maple leaves and crush them - well, I mean, you can crush them, or grind them, or shred them. You tamp it all down with a hockey stick, and pour Tim Horton’s over the mash (and then your own head), and bingo - maple fuckin’ syrup.”
FUCK.
I PROMISE YOU ELI (AND JESS)
THERE WILL BE MAPLE SYRUP
IF I HAVE TO PERSONALLY TAP A GODDAMN TREE TO GET IT I WILL-
JESS WILL BE COVERED IN IT BY THE TIME WE’RE DONE WITH HER.

[10:38:20 PM] Jess: so I thought you’d like to know that I just was scrolling through my dash (with the computer hooked up to the tv so the tv screen is my huge amazing computer screen) and without even seeing who posted it, I saw the picture of hugh dancy covered in blood and stopped and looked at eli and said “cara’s home.”
Oi! Happy Anniversary!

hey, so, these two adorable fuckers right here? today’s their eleven month anniversary and their posts about each other pretty much made me cry at work and also on the bus ride home.
these two?

yeah, they’re fucking perfect together. just like the exact right amount of fun and sass (just look at that sass, jeez) and LOVE and it’s a gorgeous thing to witness.
i don’t know if you all know (new followers etc) but i got to go and meet them in January, for the first time since i’ve known them (we’re going on a year or so now, aren’t we?)- and you know why? because that beautiful girl on the left, Eli, decided that it’d be cool f i could help her move down to New Orleans to be with Jess (and i feel like i’ll never EVER be able to properly repay that kindness).
i got to spend a bunch of days with these two beautiful people (not enough time AT ALL)- see them interact and watch them be so helplessly in love with each other and it was amazing. all of it.

so, hey you guys, congratulations on being kind and sweet and fun and perfect together.
in the fic i’m reading right now (this one) the boys just got to New Orleans and it makes my heart ache for it:
“The silence didn’t follow them to New Orleans. They hit the city, or the city hit them—something hit something—and all the noise flooded at once. The traffic, the boats, the people. Construction, car engines, barge whistles, fast-talking voices, all of it pushing its way into the car and around them.”
